Roadmap

  1. This Week's Headlines
  2. One Big Thought
  3. Arch Updates
  4. Quick Hits: Watch, Read, Listen.

⛏️ Trump sons back new Bitcoin miner group. The president's family continues to show their belief in crypto.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump announced Monday that they were partnering with Hut 8, the digital asset mining and infrastructure company, to acquire a majority stake in American Bitcoin, formerly known as American Data Center.

Its goal is to become "the world’s largest, most efficient pure-play Bitcoin miner while building a robust strategic Bitcoin reserve.”

🏛️ Can Bitcoin save democracy? That's what U.S. Representatives Gabe Amo (D-RI) and Young Kim (R-CA) argued in a recent bipartisan resolution supporting the use of blockchains to “support democratic governance, human rights, freedom of information, transparency, and innovation around the world.”

💰 We're turning Bitcoiners into digital goldbugs, and it's not OK. That's what Shinobi says in this great piece in Bitcoin Magazine, arguing that users must accept BTC as a technology in need of frequent evolution if it's going to succeed.

Welcome Titan, the Next-Gen BTC Indexer

Arch Network has transitioned from electrs to Titan, Saturn’s custom-built Bitcoin indexer designed specifically for high-performance blockchain data access and real-time dApp responses.

Titan sets itself apart with its innovative approach to Runes protocol integration, making it one of the most advanced indexers for Bitcoin-native tokens.

Critically, it is the only indexer capable of indexing at the mempool level, empowering developers to decipher between Rune transactions with guaranteed finality and those that could be front-run.

Electrs, a popular Rust implementation of the Electrum server, has been a standard solution for indexing Bitcoin transactions and providing efficient blockchain data access to light clients.

However, Titan was developed as a lightning-fast Bitcoin data indexer that provides several key advantages, including:

  1. Enhanced Query Performance
  2. Real-time Data Access
  3. Efficient Resource Utilization
  4. Native Integration
  5. Mempool indexing

Titan extends beyond traditional Bitcoin indexing capabilities with features specifically designed for Arch Network’s needs, unlocking streamlined UTXO management, efficient state synchronization and purpose-built API endpoints for validator nodes and dApps.

This represents markedly better tooling for Bitcoin — including the first indexer capable of indexing mempool transactions — and is poised to reduce latency and improve the developer experience significantly.

You can read more about Titan's technical components on the Arch Blog.

Product Updates:

  1. Optimized Transaction Speed: Dramatically improved account data retrieval from database queries, reducing lookup time from linear (O(n)) to constant (O(1)) speed, making the network significantly faster at processing user transactions.
  2. Enhanced Bitcoin Integration: Added dynamic network switching capabilities for Bitcoin explorer integration, making it easier and more reliable for the network to interact with Bitcoin’s blockchain.
  3. Modernized Data Handling: Migrated to the Borsh serialization system and implemented async RPC functionality, resulting in faster and more efficient data processing across the network.
  4. Expanded Testing Coverage: Built comprehensive test suites for critical components including account data changes, UTXO handling, and stake management, ensuring greater reliability of core network functions.
